The following is an overview of RT LOCATOR features and benefits. We will tailor a solution to your needs based on your requirements.

RT LOCATOR is a PC based warehouse control system which utilizes radio frequency (RF) terminals and bar codes to provide you with real time control over your distribution operations. RT LOCATOR maintains perpetual inventory control over all warehouse operations. Depending on your requirements, RT LOCATOR uses random store techniques based on zone rules, or stores product as close as possible to a parts dedicated pick location. Most systems implemented include an interface with your host computer in order to ensure that timely and accurate data is maintained on both systems.

Warehouse personnel are directed using portable RF terminals, and all verification and identification utilizes bar codes for simple and error free operations. These RF operations include:

Receiving- RT LOCATOR is able to receive ASN data from your host computer for purchase order validation purposes. All product is identified via RF terminal entry, and a pallet or load "license plate" is created for warehouse tracking purposes. This bar coded number references everything about the load being stored (including quantity, lot number, store and expiration date)

Store Control- Product is stored automatically by scanning the license plate and being directed to the proper location, based on rules designed for your operation. Verification is achieved by scanning bar codes at locations. RT LOCATOR provides worker productivity analysis by logging and maintaining all RF transactions.

Pick Control- Based on ship orders received from your host computer, RT LOCATOR directs the picking operations, via RF terminals. We have implemented several pick control methods, including the following:

  • Pick from dedicated pick location, with replenishment to pick based on min/max levels at pick locations.
  • Pick from random reserve store locations, based on FIFO or selecting least filled locations first.
  • Batch picking, with pickers sorting orders to bar coded pick carts or totes.
  • Paper based pick lists, with RF terminals used for confirmation purposes.

In all of these methods, all picks made are verified at the location using scanning strategies, and pick errors are virtually non existent. Back order and cross dock control can also be provided if needed for your operation.

Packing Control- If needed, packing control is used to verify what parts and quantities are placed into selected shipping cartons, typically using wedge scanners attached to pack station PCs. At this time, carton ship labels and packing lists can be printed as well. Bills of lading can also be printed.

Shipping Control- If product is delivered to a ship dock, real time verification is provided by scanning bar coded tracking numbers into assigned trucks.

Cycle Counting- RF directed cycle counting provides immediate exceptions if counts dont match RT LOCATOR values
